For nearly a decade, Exygy has been on a mission to advance equitable access to affordable housing across the United States. We are responsible for building and stewarding multiple platforms that simplify the process of advocating for, finding, applying to, and managing affordable housing.
Let's ChatBloom Housing's codebase is open source — we believe technology that serves the people should be a public good. To demonstrate this, the Bay Area has been building a community of regional stakeholders including community foundations, national housing funders, regional transportation and housing agencies, and neighboring jurisdictions to expand this portal across the region. In June 2023, the Doorway Housing Portal launched: a regional database and common application for all affordable housing opportunities across the Bay Area's 9 counties.
Housing staff are able to standardize listings and common application formats, centralize and manage all data in one place, get aggregated reports on supply & demand needs, easily upload, standardize, and manage jurisdictional policies (AMI charts, preferences, etc), and quickly configure relevant listing types and application processes.
