Building Technology that Measures and Maximizes Impact

Exygy partnered with the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregivers to develop a custom impact measurement tool that turns strategic vision into actionable insights, helping the organization measure and maximize its impact.

Fundraising for systemic change is often challenging as donors and funders are more likely to support direct services with immediate, measurable impact. So we know the costs of not measuring impact are huge: from missed funding opportunities to ineffective programs and wasted expenses. In many ways, we can’t afford not to measure their impact.

As experts in building technology within the social impact sector, Exygy sees this problem as an opportunity to meet nonprofits where they’re at. With expertise in creating custom technology solutions that integrate seamlessly with organizations' existing workflows and systems, our team can create solutions that enable data-driven decision-making in real time through quality data collection and analysis—without relying on one-size-fits-all platforms.

From Strategic Vision to One-Of-A-Kind Tool for RCI

Last year, we had the opportunity to work with the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregivers (RCI). When RCI shifted its strategy toward creating systems change for family caregivers, they needed an adaptive measurement tool that could track impact at multiple levels. They envisioned a world where every caregiver is seen, heard, and supported, but they lacked the concrete steps to get them there. We knew they needed a clear theory of change—and a custom-built tool to help them operationalize it—to turn this bold vision into a reality.

To create a theory of change, we conducted a comprehensive review of documents, including strategic plans and proposals, and tracked the organization’s desired activities and outcomes against their actual ones. This allowed us to identify gaps that were preventing the organization from realizing its vision. For example, we discovered that connecting with caregivers, an objective we knew was important to RCI based on prior conversations, was not being represented in their day-to-day work.

By identifying and addressing key gaps, we designed a tool that helped RCI not only measure, but maximize their impact.

Equipped with a theory of change, we built a custom tool for RCI that could track everything from individual caregiver wellbeing to policy change while providing actionable insights that drive strategic decisions.

This work illustrates the transformative potential of integrating strategic planning and impact measurement into a tailored tech solution. At Exygy, we believe that technology is most powerful when it’s not just a tool, but a catalyst for deeper understanding and informed action.

Why Strategic Planning and Impact Measurement Go Hand in Hand

Impact measurement doesn’t happen in isolation—it works best when it’s part of a larger strategic plan. Before an organization can measure its outcomes effectively, it needs to be clear on its goals, the steps it will take to achieve them, and the metrics that define success. Strategic planning provides the roadmap; impact measurement ensures you stay on course.

That's why Exygy approaches every project with thoughtful strategy, design, and technology in mind. We build tools that don't just gather data—they empower organizations to make informed, data-driven decisions that maximize their impact.

Looking Ahead: Partnering to Amplify Impact

As we continue to deepen our work in the social impact space, Exygy is exploring opportunities to partner with other innovative organizations that share our vision. By combining our expertise in custom technology with specialized services in impact measurement and strategic planning, we’re ready to help more nonprofits measure and maximize their impact.

If your organization is ready to take the next step, we’d love to hear from you. Contact us today to learn what our partnership could mean for your organization.
