#PasstheMic: Meet Adorable Jasmine

As we continue to #PasstheMic we are excited to spotlight Adorable Jasmine, the Founder of Deeper Tones Collective.

  1. What kind of connections are you looking for?

Currently, I am the lead on a virtual week-long Black History Month festival within the Metaverse, taking place Feb 21st- 26th, 2022. We will be showcasing Black NFT art, blockchain education, and Black history within the Metaverse!

We are seeking more partners that are interested in joining us as sponsors. Our work is seeking to onboard Black community members into the Web 3 space, so we would also appreciate marketing support.

3. How do you think the social impact space can further amplify, uplift, celebrate the Black community?

Social impact, especially as it relates to tech for social good, is a powerful vehicle for deeper social change. The Deeper Tones Collective, is focused on bridging the gap between Web 3 i.e Blockchain, decentralized finance, NFTs, crypto, metaverse, etc.

We created Black Meta Fest to address the needs of the Black community, who have historically been left out of tech and financial ecosystems via systemic oppression on the national and local level. Black Meta welcomes Black youth, elders, and everyone in between to explore our future within the Metaverse/ Blockchain movement as it relates to product creation and virtual land ownership, while also honoring our history by showcasing it within a 3.0 environment.

Additionally, Web 3 conferences are generally unaffordable, creating a financial barrier to those interested in breaking into this ever emerging field. Black Meta Fest addresses these concerns by offering a free event, and creating a comfortable space for Black professionals to learn basics and more advanced concepts from Black Web 3 professionals in an open and welcoming environment.
